The ultimate goal of any pain program is the achievement of symptom free movement and function. Your plan should be designed to restore strength and endurance, mobility and the maintenance of normal activities. The care plan that you establish should be based on specific problem areas, on your physical and psychological status, goals and motivation. The actual pain reduction techniques or exercise plan implemented can be adapted to the equipment, resources and modalities that are readily available.  The following general guidelines are useful in determining your care plan needs:  When creating your individual care plan, be sure to keep a journal to document treatment goals and the weekly frequency and duration of exercises, modalities and procedures as well as the expected outcomes for that specific that problem.

Create your care plan to include as many alternative pain reduction modalities as you can for greater effectiveness.
